Casala

Casala LogoAlthough Casala is now based in the Netherlands, the company was founded in Lower Saxony, Germany, back in 1917. Casala started out by manufacturing wooden shoe soles but before long began producing wood furniture, followed by metal and upholstered furniture. In the 1950s the company began to make a name for itself manufacturing furniture for schools.

Having changed ownership a couple of times in the 80s and 90s, Casala is now based in Culemborg in the Netherlands and is owned by Daan van der Winkel. Casala took on it’s present form in 2002 after acquiring the model rights of their current collection of furniture. Casala continues to remain close to it’s German roots by using largely German suppliers and retaining their original technical and ergonomic know-how.

Casala are famous for producing modern project furniture that has been built to last. Key to Casala’s manufacturing ideals is their commitment to technical innovation and design development. The company’s ninety years in the furniture manufacturing industry means that Casala’s products don’t just look fantastic – they’re comfortable and practical too.

Casala products are nowadays distributed to countries around the world and can be found in schools, universities, churches and offices – the list is almost endless! Casala endeavour to incorporate practicality into all of their designs and create products that can be stacked, are easy to transport and store. One of their best know designs, the Lynx chair, can be coupled in a few seconds, whilst their Curvy chair stacks so compactly that forty can be pushed under a two-metre doorway at once!

Casala pride themselves on getting most of their inspiration from clients and customers; their range of well-designed, user-friendly products is evidence indeed of their commitment to attention to detail and technological innovation.
